Two things separate this from every other camera feeder we sell, and both matter more than resolution.
The first is full-colour night vision. Built-in 2600–2800K illumination lights the perch out to about five metres, so what you get after dusk is a colour image rather than the grey infrared smear most wildlife cameras produce. Owls, late-feeding thrushes and the mice that clear up underneath all show up in colour.
The second is that it does not need your WiFi at all. In AP mode the camera broadcasts its own network — you join it from your phone's WiFi settings and open the app. No router, no password, no signal strength problem at the bottom of the garden. Connect it to a router instead and you get remote viewing from anywhere; the choice is yours, and it is the answer to the single most common reason camera feeders get returned.
It sleeps until a bird arrives
A PIR sensor wakes the camera when something lands and puts it back to sleep afterwards. It is not recording around the clock, which is why a 2000 mAh battery and a 4 W solar panel are enough to run it indefinitely. The panel is on a three-metre cable, so it can sit in sun while the feeder sits in shade — a detail most all-in-one units get wrong.
Footage stays on a card, not in a subscription
Video records to a microSD card in the camera. There is no cloud tier to buy and no monthly fee, which over a few years is the difference between this and a subscription-based feeder costing several times as much. The 64 GB option ships with the card included.
The app is ATIPCAM, on Android and iOS, and it supports sharing the camera with other people so more than one phone can watch.
Two-way audio
A microphone and speaker are built in, so clips carry birdsong rather than arriving silent — and you can talk through it, which is the quickest way to move a squirrel off the tray from indoors.

Questions people ask
Will it work on my WiFi?
Only if you have a 2.4 GHz band. It will not join a 5 GHz-only network. Most routers broadcast both, but check before ordering — and remember you can skip the router entirely with AP mode.
How far can it be from the router?
The manufacturer specifies within about 10 metres for a reliable connection. Further than that, use AP mode or a WiFi extender.
Is there a subscription?
No. Footage records to the SD card. Nothing to pay monthly.
Does it identify bird species?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. This is a camera, not an AI identifier. The free Merlin Bird ID app from the Cornell Lab will identify anything this one films, for nothing.
Will it survive winter?
It is IP66 rated and specified from −10°C to 50°C. Below that the battery will lose capacity, as any lithium cell does — bring it in for a mains charge if you get a hard freeze.
Where should I put it?
Facing away from the low sun, ten feet or so from cover, and where the solar panel gets real daylight even if the feeder itself is shaded.
