Create a state-of-the-art martin colony in your backyard using this Troyer's Birds' Paradise Deluxe Gourd Rack with 12 Crescent Starling Resistant Entry Hole Gourds. This fantastic system offers martins plenty of roosting spots, as well as a way to properly site and maintain them. A high tensile, 2" square, aluminum pole inserts into your soil, and a generous, 48" long ground stake provides strength and stability. Attach the included perch, two-level rack system, arms, and pulley to this pole for easily hanging the included SuperGourds. These one-piece, molded plastic gourds were designed based on 20 years of research into martin breeding behavior, for wonderful chances of occupancy. Each home has a 3" wide and 1.125" tall, crescent entry to deter starlings, and an included porch flanking the opening. A molded canopy over the entry protects the nestlings from rain, and raised lines on it act as perching area. A plastic cap covers the generous access port, situated at a 45° angle on the side of each gourd for easy maintenance and nest checks. High-density, polyethylene plastic creates these gourds, ensuring a relatively heavy unit that has less swaying in the wind. Enlarge or drill holes at the top of each gourd to attach them to the existing hangers on the dual racks in the orientation you desire. A polyester rope and winder clip make it simple to lower the gourds down to your level for maintenance, and nylon glides in the hub keep this action smooth. The extended, top perch completes this system, offering martins plenty of sentry or resting spots, and the aluminum construction of the pole and racks remains durable. The exact materials for this piece are listed in the specifications above. Across the range we use untreated cedar, kiln-dried hardwood, metal, ceramic, glass, recycled cotton and preserved moss. A few designs — window feeders and the recycled-plastic range — do use plastic, and where they do it is stated on the product page.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is free on every order, to all 28 countries in our delivery zone — you will see whether yours is covered at checkout. The range comes from a number of different small workshops and suppliers, so dispatch times vary from piece to piece, and items in the same order may arrive separately. We would rather not quote a delivery window we cannot keep, so we do not: you will get tracking by email as soon as your order ships.

Can I leave it outside all year?

Nearly everything here is built for year-round outdoor use — check the specifications above if you are unsure about a particular piece. Untreated wood will silver and weather over time; that is normal and does not affect how it works.

What if it is not right?

Return it within 30 days of delivery for a refund, for any reason. Return shipping is free — email support@birdlover.store and we will send you a prepaid return label. If it arrived damaged or we sent the wrong item, send a photo and we will put it right straight away. Refunds are issued within 5–7 business days of the item reaching us. EU customers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal.
