Start your own fabulous purple martin system with the Heritage Farms Quad Pod Purple Martin House - 1 level. This spacious and durable house has a powder-coated steel body and roof with plastic porches and floors in addition to round hole, crescent hole, and winter door stop inserts. Each of the four nesting boxes measures a roomy 8" x 8". Three different styles of doorways allow you to choose the one which most suits your needs: traditional round entrances, crescent-shaped starling resistant openings, and solid doors to seal your house during martin migration.

Wire pod supports provide an ample external perching area and lay out the basic structure of the Quad Pod. The units mount onto the wire support at 90 degree angles to keep nesting pairs separated and prevent males from trying to dominate several of the pods. Each front porch snaps into place to lock the nest box to the wire support. This modular design allows you to remove and clean individual pods without disturbing the adjacent units. Snap tabs permit you to remove the roofs and inspect the nest activities of your birds. Each nesting box features an internal predator guard and integrated exercise perch, a recessed nesting cavity, drainage holes, and ventilation slots.

The Quad Pod's mounting and construction facilitate future expansion of your colony. The included pole mounting attachment fastens securely to the Quad Pod Purple Martin Pole System and supports the entire structure. Because purple martins are social birds, we recommend that you install at least two Quad Pods to offer eight nesting units; Quad Pod units easily stack on top of one another to build a larger home. To house an even larger colony of purple martins, the sturdy Pole System is strong enough to support up to four Quad Pods.

What is this made from?

The exact materials for this piece are listed in the specifications above. Across the range we use untreated cedar, kiln-dried hardwood, metal, ceramic, glass, recycled cotton and preserved moss. A few designs — window feeders and the recycled-plastic range — do use plastic, and where they do it is stated on the product page.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is free on every order, to all 28 countries in our delivery zone — you will see whether yours is covered at checkout. The range comes from a number of different small workshops and suppliers, so dispatch times vary from piece to piece, and items in the same order may arrive separately. We would rather not quote a delivery window we cannot keep, so we do not: you will get tracking by email as soon as your order ships.

Can I leave it outside all year?

Nearly everything here is built for year-round outdoor use — check the specifications above if you are unsure about a particular piece. Untreated wood will silver and weather over time; that is normal and does not affect how it works.

What if it is not right?

Return it within 30 days of delivery for a refund, for any reason. Return shipping is free — email support@birdlover.store and we will send you a prepaid return label. If it arrived damaged or we sent the wrong item, send a photo and we will put it right straight away. Refunds are issued within 5–7 business days of the item reaching us. EU customers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal.
