Introduce local birds to a charming and spacious new home using the Home Bazaar Novelty Cottage Bird House, Blue. The home is painted in a soft, sky blue hue, accentuated by a white imitation door and window trim. A wrap-around porch and balcony line both sides and front of the house with picket-style railings, and columns and fascia support and skirt the upper level. Round orbs adorn the kenwel posts of its handrail completing the ornamental design. While the bottom two unsealed windows are protected from the elements by the wrap-around balcony, the top two windows are sheltered by the overhang of the gabled roof above. A dormer projects out from the front of the roof with its own gabled roof and window, adding further architectural dimension to the structure. An imitation chimney matching the home projects up from one side of the roof, and a 6" long, dog-eared plank affixed to the rear of the house can be swiveled up for placement against a wall or post. A 7" wide and 4.25" tall, removable panel on the rear of the home makes for easy access to the interior for cleaning, and two holes in the base allow for drainage of accumulating moisture. Due to the home's built-in bracket, the item can be hung against a wall or post, or its generous 10.25" wide and 7.25" deep base adds the ability for mounting atop a post as well. Bring a new style of home into your yard and to your birds with this Blue Novelty Cottage Bird House.

Note: Climate and the elements will weather this Novelty Cottage Bird House and change its appearance over time; however, weathering will add to the home's natural charm without compromising its function. Should you wish to preserve the finish (paint) on this home, you should select a polyurethane product that is recommended for marine use (UV rated) that will not turn the white paint yellow. You should expect that once left outdoors, the product will weather and require refinishing.

Frequently asked questions

What is this made from?

The exact materials for this piece are listed in the specifications above. Across the range we use untreated cedar, kiln-dried hardwood, metal, ceramic, glass, recycled cotton and preserved moss. A few designs — window feeders and the recycled-plastic range — do use plastic, and where they do it is stated on the product page.

Will it look exactly like the photo?

Images are representative. Our range comes from a number of independent workshops and suppliers, so an item may occasionally differ slightly from the photo in finish, grain, colour or small details. Natural wood and hand-finished pieces are never identical to one another. We are bringing more of the range into our own inventory to reduce this. If what arrives is not what you expected, email support@birdlover.store — returns are free for 30 days.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is free on every order, to all 28 countries in our delivery zone — you will see whether yours is covered at checkout. The range comes from a number of different small workshops and suppliers, so dispatch times vary from piece to piece, and items in the same order may arrive separately. We would rather not quote a delivery window we cannot keep, so we do not: you will get tracking by email as soon as your order ships.

Can I leave it outside all year?

Nearly everything here is built for year-round outdoor use — check the specifications above if you are unsure about a particular piece. Untreated wood will silver and weather over time; that is normal and does not affect how it works.

What if it is not right?

Return it within 30 days of delivery for a refund, for any reason. Return shipping is free — email support@birdlover.store and we will send you a prepaid return label. If it arrived damaged or we sent the wrong item, send a photo and we will put it right straight away. Refunds are issued within 5–7 business days of the item reaching us. EU customers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal.
