Provide songbirds a luxurious coastal retreat when you place this Home Bazaar Lakeshore Cottage Bird House in your yard. The gorgeous details, bright coloration, and lakeside motif of this dwelling bring ample charm to your bird sanctuary, and the wood construction of the unit lends substantial and lasting appeal. A steeply pitched roof, covered in slate blue wooden shingles, gives realism and color to the domicile, enhanced by planter baskets filled with faux foliage situated on the home's front columns. Brown accents border the front door and windows, and a detailed figure of a wreath rests on the inviting entry to complete the presentation. Small steps lead up to the doorway for added detail, while a 1.25" diameter entry hole rests near the top of a side panel, letting small songbirds gain easy passage to the solace of a cozy chamber. A pair of drainage holes on the base of the home help the nest remain dry, and ventilation gaps beneath the roof and on the rear of the unit help facilitate optimal airflow for a clean shelter. Screening inside the home forms a helpful ladder, giving nestlings a boost as they climb to exit the hole, and the back panel removes in moments for nest checks and cleaning. A back mounting paddle sports a predrilled hole that allows you to place this lovely domicile against a wall, tree, or fence in moments, or mount the flat base of this item to a post or pole using a mounting plate (not included) for a different display. The light tones of the home provide a fantastic contrast as you embellish your birding sanctuary, and the durable construction lets you enjoy the piece for season after season. Beckon delightful feathered friends to your coastal bird haven with the alluring Lakeshore Cottage Bird House.

Note: Climate and the elements will weather this Lakeshore Cottage Bird House and change its appearance over time; however, weathering will add to the item's natural charm without compromising its function. Should you want to preserve the finish (paint) of this house, you should cover it with several layers of a polyurethane product that is recommended for marine use (UV Rated) that will not turn the white paint yellow. You should expect that once left outside, the item will weather and require refinishing.

Frequently asked questions

What is this made from?

The exact materials for this piece are listed in the specifications above. Across the range we use untreated cedar, kiln-dried hardwood, metal, ceramic, glass, recycled cotton and preserved moss. A few designs — window feeders and the recycled-plastic range — do use plastic, and where they do it is stated on the product page.

Will it look exactly like the photo?

Images are representative. Our range comes from a number of independent workshops and suppliers, so an item may occasionally differ slightly from the photo in finish, grain, colour or small details. Natural wood and hand-finished pieces are never identical to one another. We are bringing more of the range into our own inventory to reduce this. If what arrives is not what you expected, email support@birdlover.store — returns are free for 30 days.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is free on every order, to all 28 countries in our delivery zone — you will see whether yours is covered at checkout. The range comes from a number of different small workshops and suppliers, so dispatch times vary from piece to piece, and items in the same order may arrive separately. We would rather not quote a delivery window we cannot keep, so we do not: you will get tracking by email as soon as your order ships.

Can I leave it outside all year?

Nearly everything here is built for year-round outdoor use — check the specifications above if you are unsure about a particular piece. Untreated wood will silver and weather over time; that is normal and does not affect how it works.

What if it is not right?

Return it within 30 days of delivery for a refund, for any reason. Return shipping is free — email support@birdlover.store and we will send you a prepaid return label. If it arrived damaged or we sent the wrong item, send a photo and we will put it right straight away. Refunds are issued within 5–7 business days of the item reaching us. EU customers also have a 14-day right of withdrawal.
